Members of G3S may apply for funding of conference travel, invitations of guest speakers and other minor expenses (e.g. visa fees) directly at G3S.
Languages Courses such as German for non-native speakers and preparatory meetings for academic events, research cooperations are also sponsored by G3S. Travel costs for regular meetings with external supervisors are excempt.
Currently, there are no deadlines for short informal applications containing a description of the activity to be funded, suggestions for co-financing from other sources and a detailed budget. The applications may be submitted to the Steereing Committee via the coordinator of G3S.

Twice per year (on average), G3S is advertising start-up scholarships (12 months/30'000 CHF). Deadlines for applications are usually set for April and November with the possibility to begin the scholarship at the beginning of the following semester. The scholarships are meant to support graduates in the early stages of their PhD in order to develop research proposals for submission to a funding body such as the Swiss National Science Foundation.
The "Forschungsfonds" of the Rectorate of Basel University also awards scholarships for the completion of a dissertation.
